My fall tree

Today I had my son Caleb, bring up our Christmas tree from the basement. " Why" you might ask.  Well I like to decorate the tree in fall decorations, and enjoy it up until Thanksgiving weekend when we decorate for Christmas. I decorated it for fall last year for the first time and everyone loved it, hope you do too!

Here are some close up's of the cute decorations on the tree:

I picked the little scarecrow on top and this cute decoration at Hobby Lobby today.

Here is one last look and also my mirror in the powder room:

Thanks for stopping by!

New fall decor and new rug.

Hope everyone is enjoying this welcomed cooler weather, it has been such lovely weather here in the south the last couple of days.  I have had a whirlwind weekend...hubby was home from California and we had an enjoyable weekend and stayed busy the entire time he was here.  One of the things we did was buy a new rug for the living room, we loved the animal print...what do you think?

Here is another view:

I have also been busy putting out some of my fall decorations. I had my brother take out the gas logs inside my fireplace so I could put my large pumpkin and some other fall items inside, I also added orange lights and three led twigs, the light's aren't showing up in the picture, but it is beautiful at night!

Hopefully you can sort of see the light's around the pumpkin.

I am not finished in the dining yet, but here it is so far: above and below:

This is a mirror I have in the study, notice my little dog Gracie in the mirror?

Well hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far, and I will be back soon!

What I have been up to.

I have some new things I would love to share with y'all, I have been sewing and rearranging and creating.  Let's start with the new window treatments, remember a while back I told you I was learning to sew?  Well, my very dear friend Donna who lives in Tn, skyped me on the computer for about 2 hours and stepped me through the sewing process of the curtains .  I found the wine bottle fabric at JoAnn's, it goes great with my kitchen decor:

The sheer's were much easier to make than the valence's, but I did it, how do you think it looks?
Next is our master bath, I bought the curtain at my favorite thrift store for $1.50 and simply added fabric at the top and bottom to pull the colors in that I have decorated with.
The shower curtain I bought from the same thrift store for $1.50 and added the same fabric to it.
Okay, are you totally bored with the bathroom pictures?  We are almost done!

Here is my beautiful travertine floor we had installed last summer, I love the medallion.
Oops we are not finished yet...hang on......
My shutter we hung in our bedroom, painted it black and then added gold....aren't the knob's wonderful?  Hobby Lobby has some great hardware.  I also made the coffee filter wreath and the tassel.  Now.....we are done, hope you enjoyed looking around our home!

Hello everyone!

Wow, it has been a looong time since I have posted anything, a lot has been going on, for one thing my husband is in California working on a geo-thermal plant.  I did get to fly out to spend some time with him and on the weekends we would go sight seeing, we went to Palm Springs and also San Diego. The temperature in the city where my husband is working was in the 100's everyday, so very hot!  The landscape is so different than Atlanta, it was pretty but I missed all the green!

Here are some of our pics:
We had just landed in San Diego, and was eating lunch right beside the bay, so beautiful.

This was taken in Palm Springs in the court yard of our hotel, all the flower's and
                 fountain's were lovely.

Well, that is all I will post of our trip for now......I have completed another shutter and I will post
it later.....it's a little different than the other one's.
blessing,
Regina

Something New

Hi ladies, hope you all are enjoying this long weekend. My hubbie came home Friday night from California, and will be home for a couple of days.  Yesterday we went to my cousin's home for a 4th of July celebration, had a great time and really enjoyed the fire work's show!
I have been working on some project's using a couple of shutter's we had.

We had these shutter's in our bonus room for a couple of years, they were painted a different color and they were hung on both sides of the window's just like you would do on the outside of the house. I was tired of that look so I primed and painted them and had hubby hang them up side by side and bought the letter H for our last name and used double sided tape to hold it to the shutter's. Then, I went to Goodwill and purchased the picture frame's for .75, and painted the red ones and used tissue paper and mod podge for the other ones. I want to add some more frames, but have not had time to get back to GW.

This was my birthday present that my husband built me, it is also made out of shutter's. He used hinges on the back to hold them together, and then cut out the shelves out of 1x12 pine boards.  We got the shutter's from a house in our town that was being torn down. I used this to display some of my Mother's things.
Also, thanks so much for all the sweet birthday wishes!
love to all,
Regina

I am still here!

Hi ladies, so sorry I have fallen behind in my posts, since we got back from vacation it seems we haven't stopped.  First of all, today my son had out patient surgery so we were up early and at the hospital with him. Now he is resting upstairs with his cell phone by his side to call me when he needs
something. Not sure if I am going to like that set up or not.haha   Next, my husband is leaving tomorrow for California, he will be flying back and forth for the next 4-6 months. For those of you that don't know, he worked in Canada from Jan - July last year so....I was not to thrilled about this news.  But we are thankful that he has a job, so many people are hurting right now.  And lastly, I am decorating a clients home and that has kept me extremely busy. So please keep us in your prayers that this journey that my sweeties job is taking us on will go by quickly!

Taken from the Oakville marina near Toronto Canada. The young man sitting at the bottom of the light house was playing the guitar. My husband of course had to meet him and play guitar with him. Needless to say they hit it off right away, both being musicians, and swapped musical ideas for a long time. They drew quite a crowd.
