Hi everyone,
I just had to show you my latest little project. I made these the other day and gave it to some of our friends with a new little baby girl. They are associate pastors at our church and have been such a blessing to my husband and myself and I just wanted to show them how much we appreciated them. Tell me what you think.
The picture frame I picked up at my favorite store, see if you can guess what store that is. If you guessed Hobby Lobby then you would be the million dollar winner. I didn't have to paint this frame, it already came in black (lucky me). I used scrapbook paper as the background and hot glued ribbon around the front edge. I made the bow using scrap ribbon and used an old faux flower as the focal point up top. It is really lime green, but came out yellow in the pictures. How'd that happen? Anyway, I got the letter in the middle at another on of my favorite stores...no wait a minute, I don't have another favorite store, I got it at Hobby Lobby as well. it also came in black so I really lucked out on this one. The little flowers are felt scrap-booking flowers. Cool huh?
This little keepsake box is another fine example of how I don't like to throw away anything. Did you guess that it was an International Coffee's can? That's right, just a little more magic with ribbon and hot glue. Good thing I didn't throw away that ole flower arrangement away either. That's where I got the flower from. It too was lime green, but turned out yellow in the pics. Maybe I'll get a new camera out of the deal so I can take pictures from now on with true colors.
They were both so thrilled with the gifts. They said that they would look great in her room that is decorated in brown and pink. That made the effort even more rewarding.
Here is my newest wall decor. Rooster plates on the wall. My husband thinks I'm going a little "rooster crazy" but he's OK with it so far...I think. I found the two plates on the ends at a yard sale for $0.50 each. The one in the middle I got at...where else, Hobby Lobby awhile back and reused an old plate hanger. They are now taking their abode in my dining room keeping the other roosters company.
If anyone wants to start a fund that would go toward my Hobby Lobby obsession, please feel free to send cash, checks or money orders to my husband. He is feeling a little overwhelmed. Hehehehe!!!!
As a final thought, let's all keep the victims of last weeks tornadoes and terrible storms in our prayers and way to go to the Navy Seals!!!!
Sorry this is so short, but I'm getting started on my next project, planting the rose that my husband bought me for Mother's day. Isn't he just the sweetest little thing?
Until next time...
I'm sure Momma and baby both are going to love your frame. So cute!
